The Grand toit and the Museum of Art is a great place to visit in Masuda City. Various art exhibitions are planned and held there. The museum and entertainment experience that is common in big cities can be enjoyed even in the countryside. It brings gloss, an extraordinary feeling, and fun to life. In particular, you can see things that are difficult to experience even in the city. If you use an annual passport, you can enter the Museum of Art as many times as you want for only 3000 yen, so it’s a very good deal. There are frequent events in the Large Hall and Small Hall, so if you are interested in something, why don’t you go to Grand Toa while taking a walk?
For example, there will be a “Kabuki” performance. There will also be a Shiki Theatre Company performance and many concerts by famous people and bands. The performance of the local entertainment Masuda String Puppets (twice a year, next on August 24, 2024) is a unique local attraction.
There are special exhibitions such as the “Hokusai” exhibition, staff lectures, plays such as “Kabuki”, and concerts such as “Cantale”. I am surprised to see things that are hard to see even in the city in this local town. I am happy enough to enjoy it, but the number of participants from the Masuda city is still small, so I think it is sad. If you are interested in an event, why don’t you go to Grand Toit? And enjoy having a precious and wonderful cultural facility, and keep it important.

1. Granarie (illumination event)
In winter, around December, you can also see the illumination of the Christmas tree “Granarie” in the courtyard.
2. Street concert
A number of street concerts are held in the hall lobby of Grant toit with music by local people. Many couples with children and elderly people also participate and enjoy live music. At formal concerts, if you have children, you can’t listen to music, but I think it’s wonderful to be able to enjoy the music in a friendly and lighthearted way even though there are a few children’s voices.
In January, Grantwa sponsored a chorus event called “Kantale.” There was a free chorus at Hitomaro shrine and Manpuku-ji Temple. We participated in a street concert at Manpuku-ji Temple. There was a chorus and a skit by a Tokyo-based choir, and it was very exciting. However, the number of participants from the Masuda city and the local area seemed to be rather small. Let’s get more excited by the participation of citizens in such a wonderful event.
4. Grantwa Staff School
I participated in the Grantwa Staff School held in January 2024 so that I could experience the facilities such as the large and small halls of the Grand toit. I participated in all three lectures, including the Grantwa Theater Lecture, the Sound facilities Lecture, and the Lighting equipment Lecture. It was a hands-on experience such as operating the facilities, and thanks to the staff’s ingenuity, I was able to have a valuable experience in an interesting two and a half hours. There were fewer participants than the capacity, but why don’t you participate in the next school?
I think many people have never seen it before, so this is a photo collection of theater facilities. The curtain of the Great Hall, the hanging of lights, the lowering of the front seats, the up and down system of the apart of stage, the facilities of the ceiling, lighting equipment, the echo board of the concert, the rarely seen monuments of the waiting room and the courtyard, the facilities of the Small Hall, the sound facilities, etc. are posted.
