Masuda City, located at the western end of the Shimane prefecture, is a local town in the San’in region blessed with mountains, rivers, and the sea with 44000 people. It is home to a large number of wild birds, including the Hodgson’s hawk eagle (Name in Japanese “Kumataka”) and goshawk (Name in Japanese “Ootaka”), as well as seasonal spring birds, summer birds, and winter birds, which can be seen close to the clear waters of Takatsu River and Masuda River, as well as the mountains of the Chugoku Mountains. We will introduce you to the cute wild birds that live around Masuda with photos.
Apart from these precious things, there are also white herons, wild ducks, and so on, which you can enjoy in your daily life while walking around.
